Husky Special Week 3 2009 by Shirley and Stephen

Husky Special Week 3 2009

Shirley and I have safely returned to sunny Australia and we would like to extend
our gratitude for an unforgettable and sensational time that we spent with you
and the dogs.  Coming from a hot and dry country, we were a little apprehensive
about the conditions that we might encounter in Sweden.
Travelling over 24hrs was for us a substantial investment; arriving in a completely
foreign and different world.  In hindsight we could not have been in better hands!!!

From the moment that we arrived you welcomed us into your home like it were
our own and ensured that we were warm and comfortable both inside the house
and outside in the elements - I am sure that your gloves saved my hands on the
overnight trip!!!  You worked tirelessly (and somewhat magically) to ensure that
we were extremely well feed with nourishing food to guarantee that we would make
it through the day on the sled and delicious and various creations to keep us coming
back for more.  I started the week with four dogs and ended the week with six
- enough said!!!  We were also very appreciative of the effort that you went to,
to ensure that we experienced all that Munkflohögen had to offer with training
the puppies, ice fishing, city tour with Paul the horse, visiting the Siberian Husky
breeder and the list goes on.  We never felt pressured or rushed during our
non-sled time and really enjoyed the diversity of the activities.

Can you please thank Jenny for not cooking and for her patience and help on the overnight, Roy for the camera work and Sten for the ice fishing -  all passionate
people who take great pride in their work and life.  Finally, to the dogs.
Saying that the week would not have been the same without them is a little obvious.
Their passion for pulling the sled is something that has to be seen to be believed.
Nothing can prepare you for the frenzy of noise and excitement, the moment before
you leave for a day's dog driving.  It brings a smile to my face every time I think
about it and is etched in my memory forever, along with so many other valuable
memories.

You know my saying that you have two choices in life.  Well, the week dog driving
that we had with you only gave us one; which is an experience of a lifetime that
we will never forget.  Give O'Leary's and Special a big cuddle for us.
