Husky Holiday Week 6 2008
Hello Kim and Bergsvein, Hannas, Jenny and Sten.
I'm back at work today (Tuesday), having taken yesterday
off to go to the woods with my own dog, the weather was
too nice to sit in an office!
Even though I'm looking at this world around me, in my mind's eye all I see is snow and "my" team in front of me.
This is a part from Emmas review of
her Husky Special tour in February 2008.

Husky Holiday Week 5 2007
I won’t try and tell you about being out with dogs, or
describe the scenery, I could not do either justice, come
and see for yourselves, I will simply say they are both amazing.
Out on the run, Bergsvein is completely unflappable
but has a wicked sense of humour.....

their Husky Special tour in February 2007.

This is Living!
The next morning our hopes were realised.
We were going on an overnight tour! After breakfast we
loaded up the sleds with food, firewood, tents and all
the other things that we needed to survive for the night.
Six dogs per team were required to pull this load.
I felt a great rush of adrenaline as I pulled up the anchor and we set of on our expedition...

Dear Bergsvein and Kim
Words fail me ! What a week we had: challenge, adventure, companionship, sausages.... we experienced something unique and special with you and your wonderful dogs. I wake up dreaming of deep snow, pale sunlight slanting through the trees, hot breaths rising like steam from the dogs and the sound of bacon sizzling in the pan.
/Tim
That was definitely the most amazing experience i have ever had, it will stay with me for the rest of my life, when I'm older and have a family i will take them there, mind you, mum and dad will have moved there by then!
Thank you so much and i hope the puppies enjoyed the pike!

We had a most wonderful time with you. You both treated us like friends and your guests rather than your customers and were always so generous and gave us a lot of confidence. The dogs are a credit to you; they have the best temperaments, were so patient with us and obviously enjoy their lives. The landscape was really stunning - so many memories.
/Fondest love Grace
When I got Back and told my friends how far north I was and how cold it got they didnt believe me at first. Some were just amazed that I had come back alive! Thank you so much for giving us the chance to have this experience.
Hope everything goes well for you in the future.
/Ollie (Husky Special Feb 2006)

To the bone!
"-Up front Dad was having some problems controlling his dogs, that were causing hold ups
further back. Me and Nick were taking up
the rear and had to keep stopping
to let the people in front get further ahead.
Eventually we arrived home after having so much
fun and seeing beautiful landscapes"

Dear Bergsvein, Kim
It is hard to describe how full of emotions we all feel
when we look back on our holiday with you.
It fulfilled and surpassed a dream for me...

There were no sounds to be heard except the sound
of the dogs running, you couldn’t see anyone in front
and there was no one behind.
You were all alone and it was great.
I cannot describe the experience when you are out on
the sled with simply the wilderness and your dogs it
is something that words could never do justice to.
Needless to say everyone in the group couldn’t stop
talking about it when we returned

Alot of things come along in life that test us, most
come without warning and few we would want to repeat.
Usually we choose holidays that allow us to relax and to feel grateful not to be at work but there comes a time
when this has to change. Safe is easy it’s also dull!

Dear Kim, Bergsvein and Alex,
Thank you all so much for a fantastic week - it far exceeded our expectations
and was a truly magical experience.
All 3 of you were superb - thank you for looking after us so well,
both at the farmhouse and out on tour.
And, of course, a huge thank you too to our beloved teams,
spending time with the dogs was a true privilege and we have come back
with great respect and admiration for them all - they are amazing animals.
I especially miss my own team and thank them for looking after me so well
wise, experienced, darling Mozart; lively, mischievous Gaughin, curious, lively Sundance,
eager, dependable Isaac, regal, beautiful, steadfast Inez
and my adorable, darling, hard-working Hamlet.
Getting to know them all and see how different they all were was wonderful,
and it broke my heart to say goodbye to them all - give them all a huge hug from me.
John's team were also wonderful, as were all the rest of your dogs, they are lucky to have such
dedicated people to look after them all.
So, thank you all again for an amazing experience we have received a questionnaire from
Inn Travel and have ticked "excellent" to every category!!
Best wishes and we hope to see you all again.
Lots of love! Sharon and John |

Kim / Bergsvien / Alex,
Just writing this note to thank you for the wonderful holiday that we had with
yourself on the week starting 16th January. Both myself and Tamsyn realize now
why Kim / Alex fell in love with the lifestyle andgave up office life.
I think its fair to say the week was the best holiday we've ever had
-we've been quite a few places but nothing can match the breathtaking
scenery that can be seen whilst being pulled along by your own team of husky dogs.
The range of activities meant that there was always something to do.
The food was great - the company great and our only wish was that
we could have stayed longer.
Thanks again for a great time. I've copied this email to Inn Travel
so they know what a fantastic holiday they are offering to people.
(ps -Hope Bergsvien hasn't given up on the GPS quite yet).

Dear Kim and Bergsvein,
Hiran and I arrived home safely last night after a long journey which we really didn't
want to take; we would have been much happier staying withyouguys in the wilderness
with the animals.
We both want to thank you for the wonderful week we spent with you, we had an
amazing time....fun, exhilirating, rewarding, exciting, exhausting....wecould not fault it.
I hope we did not test your patience too much! We both loved Munkflohogen and your
lifestyle is one we would swap any day fortheone we have here in London,
I for one am very envious of what you have but it just makes us all the more
determined to change our lives for the better....and soon!!!
Thank you too for taking us to see the property for sale in the forest.
We both really loved it and can see a lot of potential in it.
We were wondering whether you have any photos of the property and land during the snowlessmonths so we can get an idea of what it looks like when not waist deep in snow!!!
It would be great if you would be able to email us some photos.
Hope you are well and enjoyed your Saturday evening without any annoying tourists!!!!
Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality, warmness and delicious food....
Kim if you get too bored of cooking, I'm not too badatbeans on toast!!!!
Take care and hope to hear from you soon,
Best wishes Emma and Hiran, Munken Combi 2005 |
